Every year we have 2 very special awards handed out at the end of the awards ceremony, the Kallie Nelson Sportsmanship Award and the Sherman Ables Award.  The Kallie Nelson Award is earned by the most sportsman, helpful, and taking the good and bad days as part of life during our rodeo season. This award comes from Kallie's family. Kallie died in Nov 2003 due to cancer and all she wanted to do is Rodeo! The Sherman Ables Award comes from the Ables family. This family nominates another family that has been there and helped in EVERY way that they could during the rodeo season. Mr Ables was ALL ABOUT the sport of RODEO and his family continues that to this day.
